Find of the Week – “Two Abstract Nudes” by Michael Meyer

These two paintings by Michael Meyer depict female nudes and were both created in 1982. The first one is called ‘Beautiful Young Woman’, an abstract composition in vivid, spontaneous brushwork and toned blue colours.

The second on is called ‘Nude on a chair’ and depicts a blond woman standing on a red chair, above which the word ‘Akt’ -which translates to “nude” in German- was signed by hand in pencil.

Michael Meyer (1995-2000)
Micahel Meyer was born in 1950 in Oldenburg. He is a founding member of the famous Berlin Gallery “Garage“. He is most renown for his fantastical wooden sculptures and collages.
